That should be fixed in the next OpenMW version, though.
I tried to download the Morrowind Code Patch, and I couldnt get it to run.
Morrowind script extender mods#
but right now you have to mess with config files to activate them, making it more of a hassle for the average user. So, got Morrowind running correctly, mods working, etc, but a new problem has arisen. These extra functions allow modders to add features and behavior to scripts that would otherwise be impractical or impossible. OpenMW already can do or do equivalents of much of what the MGE does that isn't the incorporated MWSE, and most of the MCP's fixes and additions are already in (or superseded - OpenMW's larger map solution is much more flexible and works better when you either don't use TR or use landmass mods like P:C, SHOTN or Lyithdonea).īasically, the main issues right now that I see are:ġ) No equivalent to the Script Extender functionality.Ģ) The old method of 'faking' normal mapping causes wonky graphics - although the flip side is that the engine can handle normal normal mapping fine, and there have been OpenMW texture replacers released using that.ģ) The script engine is much more sensitive, which means it can throw up errors where Morrowind might just ignore it (but that would often mean the script would not work as intended).Ĥ) Collision detection works differently, which can be a problem in the specific case of elevators going up (they have to be thicker for the player to not clip down through them).ĥ) Some of the MCP functionality is in. The Morrowind Script Extender makes additional functions available for use in Morrowind scripts, beyond those provided by the game's construction set.
Morrowind script extender install#
Install the Rightside Up mod, which reverses the changes made in the Morrowind Script Extender to make the game appear normal again. For instance, rendering the entire game upside down.
The only one of those that really matter is the Script Extender, though. This makes it possible for the game engine to do things that were previously not possible.
